The development of Cross Talk (相声), a traditional Chinese performing arts has been passed down from generation to generation. It has existed in the Chinese Cultural history for a long time.
“ The Art of Talking”- Cross Talk is recognized as Cultural Asset by the China Cultural Division. Cross Talk is a unique way to cultivate an appreciation for the Chinese Language.
The key element in Cross Talk is the appreciation of the sense of humour in the Chinese Language and Culture. It can increase children’s interest to learn Chinese in a fun way.
Our programme is customised to include non Chinese / Mandarin speakers to experience the fun of engaging in simple sentences/phrases while leaning alongside their Chinese peers whom are Mandarin speaking. This promotes inclusion and teamwork in helping one another out in a group or as a duo performing the Cross Talk.
- The key development stage for language ability is during childhood stage; hence it is important to enhance primary school students’ ability to use Chinese to express themselves freely and adequately. 语言学习的关键期在于儿童时期。
