Sensory Play
Young children learn through their senses and that is why hands-on learning with concrete objects help them to grow and develop holistically. Combining the sense of touch with the senses of vision, hearing, taste and smell build cognitive skills, which help them to solve problems and create new understanding. Our programme is researched-based and helps to integrate sensory play with literacy skills. We allow children to explore calmly at their own pace while making literary connections.
Benefits of Sensory Play:
1. Sensory play builds nerve connections and pathways in the brain.
2. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem-solving skills and social interaction.
3. Sensory play aids in developing and enhancing memory functioning.
4. Sensory play is great for calming an anxious child.
Using both natural and found materials, we will draw the children into a world of stories. Sensory bins and trays will be presented in a fun and interactive manner. We have picked a range of stories, from traditional tales to contemporary favourites, providing
interesting sensory play experiences that will help the children to develop language and communication skills.
